TC30 is a tractor that has been designed to bring first time buyers into the dealers to look at tractors. It has selected features that allow them to price it at around $10K to $11K. It is a very capable machine.

The TC29 is fancier with the molded fiber/plastic fenders and to my view, better visibility. The 29 is available in a deluxe version. If you like HST (hydraulic variable speed drive) you will need to stick with the TC29. I like the way that the 29 looks.

Either machine will perform almost identically with a FEL. ....

I think they actually use the same engine/transmission. There are some handy options available on the TC29 that may or may not be available on the TC30. I'm thinking specifically of the folding ROPS and the extendable 3 point hitch lift arms. These are standard on the TC29D, available as options on the TC29, and I don't know if they are available on the TC30. Small details perhaps, but I have to have the foldable ROPS to get mine in the barn, and the deluxe 3ph lift arms are very convenient.

I believe that the TC29 has some different transmission options compared to the basic transmission on the TC30. I don't remember about live PTO on the TC30.

Other tractors that compare favorably to the TC30 would be the JD 790. They have similar engines, HP, and features. ....

According to the NH website, the TC30 is now available with a hydro transmission; the fwd(4wd) manual and hydro transmission models come standard with a live PTO, and they all have wet disc brakes. Link attached below.

One should verify with the dealer or through inspection that the tractor you're buying is a current year model and/or meets the current specs.

The TC29 engine displacement is 81.2 cu.in./the TC30 engine displacement is 91.3 cu.in.(the same as the TC33D).
The TC29 has the9x3 gear trans/the TC29D has the HST trans/ the TC30 is available with either the 9x3 gear trans or the HST trans.
The TC30 does have wet brakes and live power take off.
The TC30 makes slightly more horsepower.
You should go to the New Holland web site and compare all of the specs. ....
